Waveform Similarity-Based Robust Pilot Protection for Transmission Lines

نویسندگان

چکیده

This paper proposes a robust pilot protection scheme based on waveform similarity that restricts the influence of outliers in fault line identification. By comparing two refactoring currents constructed using time-domain sampling values at terminals transmission line, algorithm called Kendall's Tau coefficient (KTC) is employed to distinguish different datasets protected line. A reliable identification realized under types, distances, and resistances. Proposed criteria are against current transformer saturation, synchronization error, noise proposed. The KTC simply rank order instead metric value thus limits moderate level, ensuring safety cases where cannot be eliminated completely included waveforms. simulation results demonstrate excellent performance proposed scheme.

Protection scheme for transmission lines based on correlation coefficients

In modern digital power system protection systems, statistical coefficients technique is recently used for fault analysis. A correlation technique is developed for faults detection and discrimination. The proposed technique is able to accurately identify the condition of phase(s) involved in all ten types of shunt faults that may occur in extra high-voltage transmission lines under different fa...

Transmission expansion planning based on merchandizing surplus of transmission lines

This paper proposes an optimal transmission expansion planning (TEP) which is based on determining share of each line in merchandizing surplus (MS) of system, determining by Independent System Operator (ISO). The more share of a line in MS of system denotes the priority of a line for expansion. The procedure of determining MS of each line in a power system is based on determining the MS share o...

Transmission Lines Protection Based on the Current Eigenvalues Differential Concept

This work presents a new approach for a current differential protection of the transmission lines. The proposed approach is based on the Clarke-Concordia transformation and principal component analysis. First the acquired current signals are transformed into “αβo” components by applying the ClarkeConcordia transformation. This allows obtaining typical patterns. To identify these patterns a prin...

A traveling-wave-based waveform approximation technique for thetiming verification of single transmission lines

Today’s high-speed very large scale integration interconnects are becoming inductively dominated (moderate Q) resistance–inductance–capacitance (RLC) transmission lines. The time-domain system responses of RLC interconnect lines driving load capacitances cannot be accurately represented by using a finite number of poles with exception for a particular case of RC-time-constant-dominant (low Q) R...

A Review on Protection of Transmission Lines

The growth of a country is scaled by the amount of energy it consumes. In the developing India, with the rise of population, increasing number of cities and demanding villages, caused to set up transmission lines with higher capacity. Inter-ties were connected through the transmission lines to lighten every city and village, thus making the whole system complex. This complex system required a r...
